Memory Quilt

This is a quilt I made for one of my sister's for her 50th Birthday 7 years ago.  I wanted the quilt to have the feel of an old photo album.  I left a border around the picture and sewed little triangles to the corners of the pictures.  I don't have a picture of the finished quilting, it was the first quilt I sent out to be quilted, before I had my own longarm.  I included her baby picture, a picture when she was around 10ish, high school graduation picture, wedding invitation, wedding picture, two children, a great picture of all of us (five girls and one boy at my brother's wedding) and a couple of various pictures.  No pattern for this quilt, it was the first quilt I designed.

Wedding Quilt

This is a quilt I recently finished for my sister's engagement.  It's a 10 minute block and was fun to make.  I opted to stitch down the curved edges of the dark blue squares.  I love the contrast between the dark blue and background fabrics.  I used a layer cake for the background fabrics.  I ghost quilted the diamonds and stitched a fluer de lis inside, copying a design from the fabric and stitched swirly loops as the background fill. This was a huge quilt, the largest I've ever made or quilted finishing at approximately 110" x 110". Looks huge on my bed!

I hope she enjoys it for many years!

Finished Tote

Ok, my first real post!  This is a tote I recently made.  The pattern is from Lazy Girl Designs and is called "Chelsea Tote".  Great pattern.  If you're thinking about making a bag, I'd suggest using a Lazy Girl Design Pattern.  Easy to understand patterns for even the beginner.
